THE OPPORTUNITY
You will play a pivotal role in spearheading our efforts to identify, plan, and execute cutting-edge energy projects. Your expertise will drive the development and implementation of innovative solutions for renewable energy sources, energy storage, and sustainable technologies. Your leadership will ensure the successful integration of these solutions into our portfolio while adhering to environmental standards and financial objectives.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Identify a pipeline of new renewable energy opportunities in the electricity/new energy market and for developing a portfolio for transaction completion.
- Build client relationships with our external stakeholders to identify possible new opportunities, build a strong network and continually develop industry knowledge.
- Use and continually develop your extensive network of contacts to establish leads on business development and revenue diversification opportunities, focusing on future energy.
- Develop new and existing sales channels for the business through partnerships and other industry contacts
- Identify opportunities for potential partnerships, investments or collaboration
- Conduct in-depth analysis with our key stakeholders using our opportunity assessment framework.
- Design and deliver commercial frameworks, structures and agreements which support the development of a portfolio of renewable assets.
- Contribute to and negotiate new contracts including Power Purchase Agreements, Joint Ventures, Share & Asset Sale Agreements, Joint Development Agreements and manage the implementation of the contract.
- You will work cooperatively team to develop the future energy portfolio.
- You will participate in new investments and will assist in transition and management of those new investments.
This is permanent, full-time role in our Brisbane Office.
ABOUT YOU
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, law, economics or other relevant discipline.
- 3 – 5 years of proven business development experience within the energy industry, preferably within the renewable energy remit.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic and demanding environment.
- Commercial astute with strong analytical and financial skills to be able to prioritise and develop initiatives to ensure successful implementation of business strategies, policies and compliance outcomes.
- Proven ability to identify niche opportunities, emerging markets and opportunities for improvement in existing areas and secure the customer.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and formulate strategy and exercise sound judgement combined with high level financial, budgetary, pricing and risk assessment skills and commercial savviness that enables business sustainability.
- Verified ability to manage delivery partnerships that drive mutually beneficial outcomes whilst delivering benefits and options for customers within a dynamic, competitive and politically sensitive market.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills so as to be able to effectively present ideas and opportunities, gain buy in and have the ability influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
