THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Senior Settlements Analyst, you will be a part of the Revenue and Settlements Finance team at CS Energy. This role is integral to the Business’s Energy Trading cycle across electricity, gas, derivative contracts and C&I Retail. The Settlements Team primarily ensure timely cash settlements with CS Energy counterparties and perform key controls over accurate deal capture for derivative and revenue contracts. The Senior Settlements Analyst is responsible for the development, management and execution of the Settlements framework, and plays an important part in the broader business by providing back-office support to Trading (Front Office) and Energy & Financial Risk (Middle Office). The Senior Settlements Analyst is also a key partner for the CS Energy Retail C&I business by performing customer account reconciliations.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop solutions and new processes for non-standard transactions such as Power Purchase Agreements and Capacity Trading Agreements;
- Research and identify changes within the industry as they relate to Settlements and implement a strategy to effectively manage the change;
- Investigate and resolve meter data discrepancies with AEMO and CSE’s meter data provider;
- Maintain financial control over deal capture;
- Help the Business to navigate business changes such as the introduction of Gas Settlements;
- Partner with the Digital and Technology team to update and enhance core settlements-related IT systems.
ABOUT YOU
To thrive in this role, you will be a problem solver and excited about a changing landscape that is being moulded by the broader renewable energy transition. You will also have the following skills and experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a Settlements role or similar
- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel
- Energy industry experience in Electricity or Gas
- Intermediate skill level in writing database queries (SQL) is advantageous
- Experience in managing accounts receivable is advantageous
- Accreditation from AFMA or a similar professional body is advantageous
- Studies in a business-related discipline is desirable
