Budget and Forecasting Analyst
THE OPPORTUNITY
CS Energy is seeking a highly skilled Budget and Forecasting Analyst to join our finance team for a fixed term of 24 months. This role plays a crucial role in CS Energy’s Enterprise Planning department, supporting the consolidation of the group budget for delivery of Government budget cycles including reporting and analysis support related to the budget.
Duties include the below, but are not limited to:
Budget Preparation
- Supporting the senior analyst with coordination and delivery of the capital, operating expenditure, margin and balance adjustments input into the consolidated companywide budgets and forecasts, including driving continual improvement In the budget and forecast processes, tools and deliverables.
- Supporting delivery of budget and forecast updates through collaboration with the Finance business partners of the various business segments.
- Supporting the Budget Manager in preparing various analysis and trend reviews to provide management a view on various business assumptions.
Accounting function
- Support with budget input into Asset Valuations and Impairment models.
- Assist in the transition to improved budget processes and tools over time.
Reporting
- Support the team to prepare and deliver budget packs for the Board.
- Support the senior analyst to prepare Budget and Tridata submissions for the Government/Treasury.
- Support the team to prepare information for Parliamentary Estimates hearings for CEO.
- Prepare and deliver on Capital reporting requests and surveys to various government departments through the year.

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Degree qualifications or equivalent in a commercial discipline (Business/Commerce, Finance) CPA/CA/ACA/CIMA or relevant recognised financial post graduate qualification.
- 5+ years in a financial planning and analysis role with exposure to commercial complexities within the business
- Energy sector experience strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills including data extraction, visualisation and analysis.
- SQL and data extraction tools familiarity preferred.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- SAP experience preferred.
