THE OPPORTUNITY

You will be responsible for the leadership and management of projects through the execution and delivery stages of the project lifecycle focusing on environmental projects at Callide.


Your role will be to ensure that project scope, safety, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are met, while managing risks and stakeholder expectations during construction, implementation, commissioning, and handover to operations.

  • Lead the execution of assigned projects, ensuring delivery meets approved scope, safety, cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Support the Development Lead during early project stages by providing execution input and plans, then take full accountability for delivery after approval.
  • Own and manage the project execution plan, including schedule, resources, and execution approach.
  • Coordinate all site activities, including contractors, procurement, construction, commissioning, and site acceptance.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively managing risks, issues, and changes to minimise impact on outcomes.
  • Work closely with Operations, HSE, and other stakeholders to ensure safe and effective integration into operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and organisational standards.
  • Track and report project performance across safety, cost, schedule, quality, and risk.
  • Actively manage risks to meet agreed project commitments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project information in management systems and tools.
  • Lead problem-solving during execution and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based forecasts for cost and schedule.
  • Manage final handover to Operations and formal project close-out.

This is a fixed term (2 year) position at Callide Power Station.

ABOUT YOU

Essential:

  • Degree level qualifications in Engineering or other relevant discipline such as commerce, business or science.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a project management role in a Power Generation or heavy industry environment.
  • Management experience in the delivery of projects above $500k.
  • Experience and understanding of permit to work systems and safe work methods for works conducted in an operational facility.
  • Ability to spend extended period based on site during execution of project works.


Desired:

  • University Post Graduate Degree in Project Management.
  • In depth understanding of power station plant and process systems and analysis.
  • Experience in the use of scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Oracle Primavera P6.
