THE OPPORTUNITY

As a key member of the Callide Leadership Team, the Manager Maintenance is accountable for building a disciplined, high-performing maintenance function that delivers safe, reliable plant performance aligned to production priorities. This role goes beyond maintenance execution — it drives accountability, strengthens team capability, and ensures maintenance strategies directly support operational outcomes and asset performance.

About the Role

You will lead with clarity and purpose, ensuring maintenance activities are prioritised based on production risk, plant reliability, safety and long-term asset integrity. Through strong leadership and visible standards, you will foster a culture of ownership, safety and continuous improvement across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and embed a culture of accountability, ownership and high performance across mechanical and electrical, planning and facilitates teams.
  • Align maintenance planning and execution with production priorities and the Asset Management Plan to maximise availability at optimal cost.
  • Drive disciplined execution of preventative and corrective maintenance using validated performance metrics.
  • Translate reliability data, failure trends and loss analysis into targeted improvement initiatives.
  • Build capability within the team through coaching, clear performance expectations and succession development.
  • Ensure strong safety and environmental leadership, proactively addressing incidents, audit findings and risk exposures.
  • Monitor maintenance performance, resource allocation and cost controls to deliver reliable outcomes without compromising safety or quality.
  • Partner closely with Operations to balance short-term production demands with long-term asset health.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at our Callide Power Station.

ABOUT YOU

About You

You are a decisive and visible leader who understands the link between maintenance discipline, team performance and production reliability. You build trust, set high standards and hold people accountable for results.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Degree-level qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Extensive experience in maintenance and reliability leadership within heavy industrial or process environments.
  • Demonstrated success building accountable, high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of power station operations and thermal generation processes.
  • Technical expertise across complex infrastructure and process systems.
  • Proven ability to prioritise maintenance activities in line with production risk and asset strategy.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and optimising cost performance.
  • The ability to lead through change with clear communication, resilience and influence.
