CSIRO's Information and Technology (IM&T) business unit is continuing an ambitious program of work designed to support the organisation's strategy to 2024. Underpinning the program is a desire for staff to have seamless, secure access to tools, systems and processes that back the delivery of world-class science.
Members of the IMT Data Analytics Team are responsible for developing and supplying Business Intelligence and Analytics capability to staff in all areas of CSIRO. This requires expertise in relevant SAP technologies and a sound understanding of business operations, processes and information requirements.
As an Analytics Business Analyst, you will be passionate about Analytics and Data Storytelling. This opportunity will see you coordinating end-to-end solution delivery including client engagement, solution development, end-user education and service promotion. You will understand the technical capabilities of our platforms and apply these capabilities to solve line of business or research opportunities and problems. As part of an Agile Business Intelligence delivery team, you will also play an active role in quality assurance throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.
You will assist in delivering against our Data Analytics roadmaps and strategy, underpinned by our technical platforms including SAP BW/4HANA 2.0, SAP Business Objects, and SAP Analytics Cloud.
Your duties will include:
- Engage with business stakeholders, source system SMEs and data custodians to identify opportunities for the application of modern business analytics solutions
- Gather business requirements and User Stories using contemporary techniques and approaches
- Coordinate end-to-end solution delivery, working with team members, internal and external stakeholders to develop, implement, promote and support Analytics products
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing, data testing, and support business users and subject matter experts
- Construct descriptive analysis and contribute to more complex data analysis for reports, analytic applications and ad-hoc requests

Salary: AU$105,806k - AU$114,500k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:
Essential
- Relevant tertiary degree or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience working with clients to solicit business requirements and translate these into actionable solutions for technical delivery
- Demonstrated ability to harness business analysis tools and techniques to deliver multi-disciplinary, complex projects
- Experience in the development and delivery of business data management or data analytics products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to facilitate client engagement and communicate and translate technical concepts to a diverse audience
Desirable:
- Experience working with Enterprise Data Warehouse development teams to deliver engaging Business Analytics solutions at scale
- Experience using SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Business Objects or Microsoft PowerBI to develop Data Analytics dashboards and reports.
