The Opportunity

CSL are hiring Control System Engineers in the Execution Systems department at CSL Behring Broadmeadows. The Execution Systems Department provides MES, Automation and control systems expertise for the CSL Behring Broadmeadows site.

As part of our significant investment in our Broadmeadows pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, CSL is continuing to improve our automation and manufacturing capabilities. Recipe Driven Execution is CSL's automation philosophy for our manufacturing facilities. Execution Systems has the goal to standardise the systems, interfaces and processing recipes for our pharmaceutical and bio-therapeutic products.

The Role

• Reporting to the APAC Execution Systems Lead you will work on the design and implementation of the Process Control Systems (PCS)/ Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) process recipes and systems
• Provide life cycle support for Manufacturing Execution and Automation Control Systems including technical support for projects, operational support (including after hours support), preventative maintenance and continual improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with respective Project Managers and stakeholders (including Quality, Facilities, Engineering, Manufacturing and Health & Safety) to ensure execution systems project deliverables are ready in time and of high quality for the different milestones throughout projects
• Ensure the recipe design and implementation meet Engineering and Manufacturing requirements for the operation of the manufacturing facilities
• Ensure all work performed is of high quality and in compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and CSL procedures and provide a strong contribution to audit inspection activities

Your skills and experience

• Degree in the discipline of Computer Science; Mechatronics; Computer Systems Engineering or a similar field
• At least 2+ years working experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems/Automation design and support
• Experience related to designing, building, deploying or supporting DCS/PCS /Automation projects in a process-based manufacturing environment
• Experience in process automation, MES and batch manufacturing industry standards (ISA S88 &S95) would be an advantage
• Pharmaceutical experience and a good knowledge of GMP principles is desirable but not essential
• Experience in Siemens PCS 7, Siemens Opcenter, JAG or similar control systems would be beneficial
