An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our well established Global CSL Seqirus legal team as the Senior Legal Counsel, APAC. Reporting through to the CSL Seqirus Associate General Counsel, APAC you will support the region, by prioritising and delivering expert legal support and partnering with internal stakeholders to achieve strategic business objectives.

Your responsibilities will encompass:

• Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of contracts to support the manufacturing facilities used in the production of Influenza Vaccines and Products of National Significance at Parkville.
• Provide legal support for Seqirus' new cell culture influenza vaccine facility being built at Tullamarine (Project Banksia) including managing external lawyers.
• Review, draft, and negotiate agreements to support the Commercial Operations business in the APAC region, including license and distribution agreements, product supply agreements and pandemic reservation agreements.
• Provide solutions focussed and pragmatic legal advice on a range of legal issues including contract interpretation, and compliance with laws and regulations, including those applicable to the pharmaceutical industry.
• Monitor and advise of changes to legislation and regulations.
• Manage litigation and litigation exposure to protect the interests of Seqirus' operations in the APAC region, in consultation with the Associate General Counsel, APAC.

To be successful you will have

• Bachelor of laws degree or J.D. or equivalent foreign degree.
• Admission to legal practise in Australia.
• 7 years' experience in a similar legal role, law firm or in-house position.
• Preferred experience supporting a Pharmaceutical or similar company.
• Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills.
• Strong technical capability, including knowledge of competition and privacy laws.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to prioritise work.
• Strong communication and stakeholder influencing skills to achieve strategic business objectives both with internal Legal Partners, internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen and judgement.
• Sophisticated strategic thinking with the ability to turn strategic objectives into tangible actions.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a broader team.
