The Opportunity

CSL Behring is undergoing extensive and positive change as we expand and grow. In addition to contributing to Australia’s export economy, CSL has invested and continues to invest in substantial new manufacturing facilities to support our global strategy and provide the network with crucial supply of product sourced from our Melbourne facility.

Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Senior Manager Bulk Manufacturing based at our Broadmeadows site overseeing the Privigen bulk manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Senior Director Bulk Value Stream you will oversee the production activities to meet the Master Production Schedule and business needs. You will also ensure that products are manufactured following current GMP regulations and guidelines and ensure any capital improvements are delivered for the department in accordance with the department and company’s strategic goals.

The Role

• Lead a motivated team with safety at the heart of everything you do
• Create a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement with a patient focussed approach
• Coach & mentor direct reports & production team members to follow all production activities and to meet the master production schedule and business needs
• Strive to meet department daily, weekly and strategic targets across Safety, Quality, Reliability, Innovation and People
• Help identify lean manufacturing opportunities and providing your team and other key stakeholders to drive ‘waste’ out of the operation
• Develop strong lateral relationships with internal stakeholders who will collaboratively support your area’s business needs and objectives
• Manage the budget and look to find ways to reduce op ex expenses.
• Collaborate with local and global pH to secure support to meet the department’s business needs and objectives

Your skills and experience

• A tertiary qualification in science/engineering or relevant experience
• 10+ years’ experience leading manufacturing or supporting operations in achieving operational targets (safety, quality, manufacturing, cost and engineering)
• Ability to review business plans and make recommendations
• Superior technical skills in Manufacturing and Quality Process and Systems
• Experience with a pharmaceutical or allied industry involving line management
• Demonstrated knowledge of cGMP and Plasma Fractionation
• Understanding of Quality Systems including handling of process deviations and change controls and quality records
• Experience in change management and an ability to inspire and motivate
