Job Description
We’re hiring a Research Data Manager to join our Research Data Science team. You will oversee the acquisition, organisation, storage, and analysis of research study data (human and non-human) and big data (genomic, proteomic and imaging). You will collaborate with researchers and data scientists, to ensure data management practices follow industry standards, FAIR data principles and promote data integrity across the Research pipeline.
Reporting to the Director, Head of Data Management and Engineering, you will:
- Work with researchers, to develop and implement data management plans for research projects, including data collection, curation, storage and sharing observing the protocols & agreements.
- Assist researchers and data scientists to annotate diverse image datasets with domain-specific metadata.
- Develop and document data standards, data dictionaries, ontologies and data classification schemes.
- Monitor data management activities throughout the research project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to timelines and goals.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations, ethical guidelines, and institutional policies.
- Support design and implementation of data quality control procedures to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Support conducting data management training by developing SOPs, presentations and working with Data Science functions and scientific groups to raise awareness of data management aspects and regulatory requirements in R&D.
Your Experience
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Data Science/Bioinformatics/Software Engineering/Computer Science/Mathematics/Biostatistics or relevant field
- 3+ years of proven experience in Data Management (experience in pre-clinical biomedical research data management preferred).
- Knowledge of data management principles, standards, and best practices.
- Proficiency in data management tools and technologies, such as databases, data repositories, and data analysis software.
- Familiarity with data protection measures, data privacy and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to organise and interpret datasets.
- Proficient in programming languages commonly used in data management and analysis, such as Python, R.
- Experience with image processing and analytics, data visualisation techniques, and Amazon Web Services or other cloud platforms is a plus.
- Experience with data standards (CDISC, SEND and SDTM) packages, and formats is a plus.
