Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist - Chemical and Environment

Job Description

CSL (top 5 listed ASX organisation and a leading global biotechnology company) is continuing to invest and grow. Working across our established site and Parkville and our Greenfields state-of-the-art Green 5 Star rating facility at Tullamarine, you will lead, develop, review and implement Chemical safety, Environmental compliance programs and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Your role partners with CSL businesses in ensuring CSL activities meet our standards for environmental, health and safety management and to drive continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Director EHS, your responsibilities include:

• Responsibility over all chemical and environmental compliance. Manage reporting requirements for both sites
• Manage chemical risk, dangerous goods manifest, trade waste programs, and other environmental sustainability items
• Partner with our Quality Control groups. Facilitate incident investigations, participate in incident investigation analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed
• Responsible for energy and data reporting, including annual reporting requirements
• Support the startup of Green 5 Star facility at Tullamarine
• Develop and deliver chemical safety or relevant training programs.
• Occupational hygiene programs including asbestos management, noise assessments

Your Skills & Experience:

• Degree within the disciplines of environmental or chemical engineering, chemistry, environmental or other relevant engineering or science degree
• Practical experience in managing either chemical or environmental programmes
• Business partnering experience and the ability to bring a consultative mindset
• Experience intervening as needed and appropriate to address safety and environmental concerns.
• Demonstrated ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines.
