DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Financial Accounting Manager to join our team specializing in Finance & Accounting for our office in Scoresby, Melbourne.

This is a Hybrid Role

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensuring accuracy: Recording and reporting accounting transactions thoughtfully and on time to maintain a reliable general ledger.

  • Gaining insight: Preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and consolidated reports that tell the story of our financial health.

  • Collaborating on analysis: Working across the chart of accounts to investigate variances and provide meaningful financial insights.

  • Strengthening our foundation: Partnering with teams to review and refine internal controls, ensuring we remain compliant and transparent.

  • Supporting the team: Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external audits, providing clear documentation and guidance to management and SOX compliance teams.

  • Driving growth: Evaluating current processes to suggest and implement improvements that foster efficiency and best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, CA or similar certification is highly regarded.

  • Intermediate-level professional experience in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including US GAAP, internal control frameworks, and financial regulations.

  • Ability to interpret financial data, analyze complex variances, and communicate financial concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated capability to evaluate business processes, identify risks or control gaps, and implement effective improvements.

  • For internal applicants: experience leading teams, managing month‑end close requirements, and maintaining a strong audit-ready control environment.

  • Lead and supervise a team of Financial Accountants to ensure accurate accounting practices and reporting.

  • Maintain integrity of business reporting and balance sheet accounts while ensuring compliance with internal policies and controls.

  • Strengthen accounting frameworks, internal controls, and develop efficient financial processes.

  • Oversee timely month‑end close activities and provide high‑quality support to finance and non‑finance stakeholders.

  • Manage audit processes and communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non‑financial personnel.
