ABOUT US
At Custom Fleet we’ve been using our smarts to make the complex simple for over 40 years. It’s the driving force that continues to make us the fleet and leasing leader in Australia and New Zealand today.

When you join the Custom Fleet family, you’re joining a business that is Going Places. With Us, what you do and who you are matter. Being part of our diverse crew means you’ll feel welcome, empowered, and have lots of fun celebrating our success (and that sure does feel good!). We are a crew of accountable go-getters on a journey of continuous improvement – we collaborate and support each other, working hard to win for our customers, for our business, and for each other. Whilst winning isn’t everything, we are proud of our success and love it when we reach the #1 spot.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic Operations Leader, Remarketing to join our Remarketing team within the Custom Fleet business. This is a pivotal role responsible for managing the full end‑of‑lease remarketing lifecycle from transport logistics through to inspections, reconditioning and vendor performance management.

You will lead a team of five Remarketing Controllers and oversee a national network of transport carriers, inspection partners and reconditioning suppliers. Your remit is to drive operational excellence, deliver outstanding customer experience and optimise cost‑efficient logistics while shaping the strategic and continuous improvement direction of the Remarketing function.

This role is ideally suited to someone who has previously worked as a Service Manager, Insurance Manager, Assessor Manager or Panel Shop Manager. We are looking for somebody with operational leadership, complex decision‑making, supplier management, quality control and customer‑centric problem solving. Your industry understanding and operational discipline will allow you to make an immediate impact in process optimisation and cycle‑time improvement.

You will be accountable for KPIs including cycle time, inspection accuracy, reconditioning turnaround, transport performance and yield. You will work cross‑functionally to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, influence stakeholders and drive measurable improvements across the business.

If you enjoy leading high‑performing teams, navigating operational complexity and delivering strong commercial outcomes, then this opportunity is for you!

Essential duties:

  • Manage a national network of transport carriers and remarketing partners, overseeing all transport booking and tracking to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

  • Oversee the end‑of‑lease inspection process, ensuring inspections are accurate, consistent, and fully aligned with the Fair Wear & Tear Guide.

  • Manage customer enquiries and disputes promptly and professionally, ensuring fair, timely resolutions that maintain operational integrity.

  • Monitor supplier performance, build strong partnerships, and identify high‑performing providers for continuous improvement.

  • Prepare and present monthly performance and revenue reports to support operational transparency and decision‑making.

Other duties:

  • Build and maintain strong internal networks to support cross‑functional initiatives.

  • Share and implement best practices across the organisation.

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners to drive process improvement and operational efficiency.

Education & Experience

Essential:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Fleet Management / Leasing, Transport Logistics or the Motor Industry.

  • Proven experience leading and managing teams with strengths in coaching, mentoring and promoting high performance.

  • Demonstrated capability in logistics and transport management including booking, tracking and supplier negotiation.

  • Experience conducting or overseeing vehicle inspection and rectification across Passenger, Light Commercial and/or Heavy Equipment.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to prepare accurate performance and revenue reporting.

Other:

  • Exposure to Heavy Commercial / Plant & Equipment.

  • Experience working within wholesale, auction, or remarketing environments with strong knowledge of vehicle disposal and inventory processes.

ABOUT YOU

Essential:

  • Strong problem‑solving and critical-thinking abilities.

  • Highly adaptable, able to navigate changing priorities and operational environments.

  • Collaborative mindset with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.

  • Ownership of all people‑related responsibilities, including recruitment, onboarding, development and retention.

Other

  • Deep understanding of the motor industry and operational best practices.

  • Awareness of industry standards, compliance, and customer expectations.

  • Proven track record in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
