ABOUT THE ROLE
Ready to support growth and make an impact behind the scenes? As a Business Development Officer (BDO), you will play a critical commercial enablement role within our ANZ Business Development team, supporting the build, qualification, progression and conversion of new business opportunities.
Working closely with our Business Development Managers (BDMs), you will support pricing execution, deal governance, tender coordination and the seamless transition from prospect through to onboarding. You will be instrumental in ensuring Custom Fleet delivers a consistent, low‑risk and high‑quality first experience for new customers while enabling sustainable profitable growth.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives on organisation, collaboration and commercial accuracy whilst enjoys being a key contributor to a high‑performing sales environment.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties
Provide end‑to‑end commercial and coordination support across new business opportunities.
Support the preparation, governance and submission of new business pricing:
Vehicle quotations and Sale & Leaseback (SLB) data input
Validation of assumptions and financial parameters within pricing models
Coordinate and prepare formal deal response documentation including tenders, proposals and capability submissions.
Maintain accurate, timely and high‑quality Salesforce hygiene:
Opportunity and lead creation and progression
Allocation of new leads to BDMs
Management of pipeline stages, documentation and approvals
Actively manage the BDO mailbox, triaging and prioritising requests to meet service levels.
Support BDMs with new customer implementation and onboarding:
Initial vehicle ordering coordination
Fleet Management System (FMS) contract creation
Execution of SLB documentation
Attend prospect or internal deal meetings to support opportunity progression and knowledge transfer.
Run light outbound activity when required, including email research, marketing follow‑ups and prospect intelligence gathering.
Other Duties
Ensure required approvals, documentation and governance steps are completed prior to deal execution.
Support the identification of key target industries and prospects through research and coordination.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across business development processes, tools and onboarding practices.
ABOUT YOU
Essential
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing commercial, financial and customer data.
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and stakeholders.
Commercial mindset with the ability to think like a customer and anticipate downstream impacts.
Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Proficient across Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems.
Prior experience using Salesforce (or a similar CRM).
Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a B2B customer service, sales support, commercial coordination or account management role.
Higher School Certificate (or equivalent).
Other
Intermediate to advanced Excel capability.
Experience preparing professional documents and presentations.
Familiarity with pricing, leasing or financial models.
Experience working across Sales, Pricing, Operations or Onboarding teams.
Experience in automotive, fleet, financial services or leasing environments.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Essential
Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
2+ years’ experience in a commercial, sales support or B2B coordination role.
Other
Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or a related discipline.
Experience within fleet, automotive, leasing or financial services industries.
