In-house Legal Counsel

We are looking for a commercial/corporate lawyer or technology lawyer to join our inhouse legal team, supporting the business to win strategically important client deals (including global client contracting).
What will your typical day look like?
With responsibility for the delivery of legal services to a diverse range of internal stakeholders across Deloitte, there will be no typical day! You will work autonomously across a wide portfolio of high value and global deals – including working with stakeholders across our global network of Member firms.
Your role will have a dual focus, both developing and managing client stakeholder relationships as a trusted advisor, whilst leading the review and negotiation of contracts for the Firm’s major pursuits and global clients and providing strategic advice in relation to them.

You will be a curious and enthusiastic lawyer and negotiator with minimum 3-5 years’ + PQE in commercial/corporate/technology law, gained within a major law firm or a leading organisation or professional services firm. This role is perfect for a self-starter, comfortable working with minimal supervision that is keen to support a business with bold growth plans.
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience working autonomously with MSAs, major Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Subcontracts, and international contracts.
- Experience in global contracting.
- Experience in technology contracting.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to handle a high-volume of matters, across all business units within the firm.
- Ability to review and draft a range of contractual documents and legal correspondence.
- Ability to conduct contract negotiation against opposing counsel.
- The ability to adapt to a growing business at an exciting time where service offerings are being regularly reviewed and developed to meet changing needs and emerging markets.
- Ability, and enthusiasm, to build relationships with legal colleagues and business stakeholders, in both Australia and overseas.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an energetic, collaborative team.
- Ability to “think outside the box” and problem solve, presenting alternatives and solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail.
