Debt and Capital Advisory Services - What do we do?
We work closely with private and public clients to provide advice across the full spectrum of debt and capital markets. We assist Board members, CEO’s, CFO’s and treasury teams arranging debt and/or capital funding associated with maturing debt facilities and new funding requirements for liquidity purposes, acquisitions, growth capital initiatives and other related projects. The Debt and Capital Advisory practise works closely with the Audit, Tax , Industry, Consulting, M&A and Private Equity client practises. Our team is the trusted financial advisor to many iconic corporate clients across Australia having advised and arranged funding from between $25m to $2.5bn in the past several years with clients in a broad range of industry sectors.
About the team
The Debt and Capital Advisory Group comprises a team of highly experienced debt and capital advisory professionals based in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and linked to our global network of 180 offices with national client coverage and deal origination responsibilities. Our origination responsibilities encompass corporates, real estate, government and FI clients. Our team works closely together on providing our clients with funding ideas, borrowing platform structures, credit ratings guidance, strategic advice, pitching and winning debt and capital funding transactions through to the execution of raising debt and/or capital related funding We also maintain a very close relationship with lenders within Australia, Asia and Globally, including local and foreign banks, credit funds and private equity investors.

Your natural leadership and talent in negotiation, influencing and collaborating with other colleagues is sure to grow as you support a wide range of stakeholders with recommending and implementing well thought out financing solutions and innovative debt and/or capital structures to take to market for our target clients.
You are passionate about leadership, workshopping problems, and channelling everyone’s analytical, operational, strategic and financial skills to co-design practical capital management and funding solutions for our target clients that are regarded as healthy and growth target prospect clients internally and externally for our firm.

You are a natural collaborator who is able to think unconventionally, apply commercial thinking and challenge the status quo in designing solutions to real and technical problems. Prior Debt and Capital Advisory or corporate finance experience is preferred and you may have a background of working in corporate or investment banking or professional services firms.
You will also have:
- Pragmatic commercial acumen and an understanding of financial markets debt and capital-related products and trends across local and global debt capital markets.
- Strong coaching, mentoring and team management skills, with a passion for developing others.
- Exposure and experience in working with healthy and growth clients across a range of industries and financing situations.
- A commitment to and proven experience in delivering an exceptional service to clients with an ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships
- At least 10 years’ experience in a Debt and Capital Advisory and/or corporate finance related role with associated hands-on experience in debt and credit and capital analysis and structuring potential outcomes and solutions for clients.
- Strong analytical skills and an understanding of financial statements.
- Excellent numeracy skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to absorb and analyse large amounts of data quickly and an ability to undertake detailed financial and commercial analysis for inclusion in presentations and client reports.
- Logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Proven project management and organisational skills.
- The self-confidence/appetite to be involved in business and origination development activities.
- A degree in finance economics accounting or mathematics with a relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CA CFA or Masters in Finance).
