About the Team
Deloitte’s Corporate Development team assists Deloitte with all its inorganic growth initiatives. The team operates nationally, supporting Deloitte across all of its business units, priority sectors and geographies. This is a new role to increase the capacity of the team to support Deloitte’s continued focus on inorganic growth.
The Corporate Development team has end to end M&A capability, all performed inhouse and the team members has a variety of skill sets covering strategy, modelling and valuation, legal and integration. The team prides itself on a supportive and inclusive culture, a focus on training and development and on furthering the careers of all in the team.
Corporate Development sits within Deloitte’s Strategy & Innovation team reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer.
What will your typical day look like?
Our internal Corporate Development team, which assists Deloitte’s five business units with inorganic growth initiatives, is looking for a Senior Manager to assist in delivering on Deloitte’s M&A strategy. Inorganic growth is an important part of Deloitte’s growth strategy and Deloitte has been extremely active in M&A over the last decade, joining with a diverse range of business, from Access Economics to Presence of IT.
The firm sees M&A as an important part of its broader strategy, and an opportunity exists for a Senior Manager to contribute to the Firm’s continued focus on M&A as we look to strengthen and diversify our offerings to clients.
You will be involved in:
- A wide range of M&A transactions in various sectors, some of which will contain cross-border elements
- Sourcing of opportunities, including market and competitor analysis, and identification of suitable opportunities
- Detailed financial analysis, preparation of valuation materials and financial models
- Financial due diligence on targets
- Involvement in the financial elements of transactions over the entire lifecycle – from direct liaison with vendors to post-transaction performance monitoring and reporting to senior internal stakeholders

To succeed in this role, you will be a strong team player with excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and diligent under pressure.
You’ll also have:
- 2 - 4 years experience in M&A – whether that be in professional services, another inhouse corporate development team or an investment bank
- Understanding of financial analysis, valuation and modelling
- A keen eye for detail combined with an ability to identify and focus on key issues
- A proactive attitude and excellent problem solving skills
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Relevant post-graduate qualification (e.g. CA, CFA)
- A genuine desire to work on M&A transactions in a corporate development team
