About the role
Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer – Deloitte, Australia, this position is a critical role in supporting the amplification of our Deloitte Australia brand. This role leads a diverse and large team to craft impactful content and experiences that accelerate commercial outcomes. The role is also accountable for local brand leadership, across all aspects of brand strategy including promotion, performance and protection.
Our Deloitte marketing department’s creative, content, brand and digital experience teams together form our internal ‘Agency’. The talented experts in the Agency work with their Marketing, Communications and Business Development (MCBD) colleagues to bring to life campaigns and initiatives with brilliant content, innovative creative and effective digital execution. They also take the lead on brand marketing initiatives, and ensuring our brand is protected.
You will be a trusted advisor to the Deloitte Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and MCBD Chief Operating Officer (COO) to ensure the Agency team are known as the trusted creative, brand and digital experts that connect clients and talent to Deloitte.
This role is a member of the MCBD Leadership Team and works closely with other Leads and local and global functions, such as Talent, Communications & Corporate Affairs, and Global Brand and Digital, to drive campaigns and initiatives, and deliver operational excellence.
Success in the role will be driven by the following key responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Sets and communicates strategic direction of your pillar, excites people around the vision and goals and aligns diverse, cross-functional and cross-border teams to achieve success.
- Cascades MCBD and Agency Pillar objectives and priorities to set team direction, inspire and motivate.
- Ensures the Agency team are recognised for driving world class client experiences, protecting and differentiating our brand, and performing as high value experts in their competency.
- As part of the MCBD leadership team, contribute to the MCBD vision – creating an innovative, creative, inclusive and collaborative culture for MCBD.
- Meaningfully contributes to relevant AU, Global and AP communities by leading or supporting on initiatives that achieve shared objectives.
- Manages the development of a strong pipeline of talent for current/future success both within your pillar, and across MCBD; owns and drives a talent experience that differentiates MCBD and Deloitte.
- Leads from the front, acting as an exemplary role model both within your pillar and across MCBD; promotes a strong sense of loyalty and followership and inspires others to act.
Senior stakeholder management:
- Work closely with the CMO on the design and delivery of Brand strategy and initiatives, and with the MCBD COO on the Agency’s operational strategy and technology roadmap.
- Leverage strong senior relationships with Deloitte Digital (client facing agency), Global Brand & Digital and Global Agency leader network, to drive efficiencies and excellence across the Agency and MCBD.
Operational Management:
- Ensure the Agency function is innovative, collaborative, agile and efficient - in crafting impactful content and experiences that accelerate commercial outcomes.
- Lead the development and drive the disciplined execution of the Agency strategy and initiatives, including technology implementation, and budget management.
- Ensure excellence and efficiencies with brand operational management, compliance measurement and technologies.
- Identify and drive streamlining and efficiencies across the operations of the department including ecosystem delivery of contractors and offshore, and implementation of automation and other technologies to enhance efficiency.
Data-driven insights:
- Provide recommendations to CMO and MCBD COO on operational efficiencies, brand health and performance, campaign and channel performance, and technology efficiencies and enhancements.
Key stakeholders in the role will include the Chief Marketing Officer - Deloitte Australia,
Executive Creative Director and the Chief Operating Officer – MCBD.

To successfully secure this role, you will have:
- Strategic thinking, commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset with analytical and strategic problem-solving skills to derive relevant strategic insight.
- Experience in professional services marketing preferable, and have previously held a marketing or agency leadership position.
- Demonstrable leadership skills and experience leading large teams (>20 people), and reporting to/collaborating with senior business stakeholders i.e. ability to influence senior leadership; ability to motivate and grow a high performing team, and shape the team to respond to changing business needs.
- Strong understanding or experience with brand architecture in a Global organisation, and understanding of brand strategy and positioning.
- Ability to identify and solve problems objectively using analysis, experience and judgment.
- Passion for driving a diverse set of initiatives at once, and operational management capabilities i.e. ability to lead and stay across multiple large projects or campaigns.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent executive level stakeholder management, relationship development and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability in building strong relationships and working within multi-disciplinary teams.
