About our team
Deloitte’s R&D and Government Incentives team works to assist our clients in undertaking new investment and innovation by identifying and securing government support to realise their plans.
This involves identifying key projects, seeking to understand how and why the government might be interested in providing support, then working on specific funding opportunities to generate a successful grant outcome.
This position will have a focus on a range of projects from individual company expansion or capital expenditure activity, through to larger infrastructure opportunities.

About the role
You will be tasked with building the client base for the Grants & Incentives team, and leading the path to market amongst existing and new clients. You will be part of the national RDGI team, and supported by experienced mentors to drive your success in this exciting and challenging role.
The role will include providing services in relation to:
- Identifying and converting market opportunities for the grants & incentives offering, and building strong client relationships
- Managing multiple public and private sector stakeholders
- Managing, motivating and leading teams on complex projects
- Maintaining quality control on assignments and projects, ensuring deadlines are being met.
About your experience
Preferred candidates will have:
- Experience working in or to government (state or Federal), preferably in an industry-facing department
- Excellent writing and client facing skills
- A creative approach to seek new GI opportunities for the team
- The ability to manage a portfolio of clients and engagements at any given time
- Experience in the management of complex projects
- The ability to develop and maintain a network of key contacts within State and Federal governments
- The ability to liaise with key private sector clients and targets, up to CEO and Chairman level
- Experience in managing people
- Experience with infrastructure projects (road, port, airport, rail, water etc) would be an advantage. Some experience working in or to government (state or Federal), preferably in an industry-facing department would also be an advantage.
A current knowledge of Australian Government policy is an advantage, particularly in regard to infrastructure and industry programs (e.g advanced manufacturing, biotechnology, or other sectors facing growth prospects) and climate change related policy.
