Deloitte is seeking a passionate and experienced Cybersecurity Architect to help shape and build exciting and high-profile Operational Technology (OT) monitoring to support our clients with the defence leadership and frontline warfighters. You will work collaboratively with multifaceted teams and personnel, comprising of engineers, cyber security SMEs, Operational Technology (OT) SMEs, SIEM engineers, and a range of stakeholders.

The role requires an energetic and articulate Cybersecurity Architect with a positive attitude and keen eye for detail, who is also capable of maintaining enduring internal and external relationships while working in a high tempo project delivery environment. 

As a Cybersecurity Architect you will be responsible for managing the security design of OT monitoring products and solutions.

To be considered for this role, you must be an Australian citizen, hold a current NV1 clearance and be eligible for a Defence NV2/ clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cybersecurity architecture for security monitoring and secure network architecture, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, SIEM, and other security measures in collaboration with Engineering teams and stakeholders. 
  • Ensure system security requirements are managed and implemented to ensure system security compliance is achieved and maintained.
  • Provide multi-level technical leadership and guidance to teams, personnel and other stakeholders on cybersecurity architecture, controls, and monitoring functions.
  • Analyse and understand the organisation's security requirements and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that cybersecurity requirements are integrated into the design, development & testing of our products, and conduct security reviews of product designs.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify, prioritise, and manage potential cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities, and develop and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Ensuring security architecture is consistent, compliant, and in accordance with the Information Security Manual (ISM) as required for the certification and accreditation process.
  • Engaged in contemporary and future-focused thinking relating to cybersecurity threats, technologies, best approach practices, and provide recommendations for improving cybersecurity posture.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in security architecture design and implementation within Defence, ADF, and/or Defence Industry environments.
  • Working knowledge of Defence system engineering model and documentation.
  • Experience in Commonwealth and Government information assurance requirements, including the Australian Government ISM and Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity architecture, with a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of security standards, policies, procedures, frameworks, and cybersecurity maturity assessment models.
  • Experience with the Defence system accreditation and certification processes. 
  • Proficient in Defence writing and technical documentation, business & technical communication, and facilitation of architectural and engineering boards.
  • Knowledge of Industrial controls, OT systems, and experience in or holding of relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or GIAC, are a plus.
