FORWARDING EXPERTS WITH GLOBAL REACH & LOCAL KNOWLEDGE

As an OCC Specialist, you will be responsible for:

• Support the Australia Ocean Freight team (Nationally and in the station) to achieve the budget.
• Work with the sales team and assist them with competitive market pricing to retain and at the same grow the customer base (profitable growth)
• Support Joint sales calls with sales.
• Support niche product development (Reefers, Out of Gauge, Breakbulk, Sea-Air)
• Support execution of OFR procurement strategy in the country (LCL/FCL and Transport)
• Collaborate with regional and global colleagues to improve buying rates and secure space.
• Escalates local shipping line issues to Regional Route Management or local supplier KAMs.
• Support transport procurement for LCL and FCL transport together with the stations, to ensure competitiveness.
• Collaborate with our local vendors to ensure service quality.
• Support operational teams with guidance on OFR global rates and processes to encourage their implementation and adherence.
• Support Ocean Freight Trade Lane development together with sales and overseas product colleagues
• Provide support and expertise to the business on Station/Ocean Index topics on behalf of Ocean Product

To be successful in the role, you will have:

• Minimum two (2) years of previous experience in the Shipping/International freight forwarding industry.
• Functional knowledge of OFR forwarding business and carrier/supplier landscape
• Proven track record working in teams (leadership, motivation, and people skills)
• Demonstrates strong communication capabilities.
• Strong problem-solving mentality
• Demonstrated Sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Be result-driven and be able to demonstrate strong communication and administration skills with a high degree of attention to detail and a professional work ethic.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
