Corporate Communications Branch is responsible for all aspects of the department's corporate communications and marketing functions including internal and external communications, media relations, public relations, social media, website content and development, and issues management. The branch provides strategic advice and support to the Director General, the Executive team and across the department.

The position
As a member of the Corporate Communications Branch, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate communications projects and assist in developing and implementing communication activities to increase awareness of the department's priorities and improve its profile internally and in the community and industry. Additionally, you will play a key role in fulfilling the department's communication needs, ensuring that all information products are of high quality, consistent, and easy to read, with the ultimate goal of achieving communication objectives.
Your experience in developing and implementing communication strategies will be invaluable to the team, as you will be expected to interpret research and technical material, and prepare information products accordingly. Strong writing and editorial skills, combined with a background in communication, journalism or similar, would be highly valued for this position.
This position is located in East Perth, conveniently close distance from public transport and nearby City of Perth parking. You will also enjoy onsite lifestyle facilities, including bike lockers, fully equipped change rooms and personal lockers. You may be required to work at other sites as required.

What are we looking for?
To be considered further, please submit a detailed CV and a covering letter (of no more than two (2) pages) addressing the following;
- Ability to interpret high-level analytical research and technical material, then prepare information products to meet the needs of a target audience.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communications strategies and the production of a wide range of quality information products, including social media, online and offline.
- Possess well-developed writing and editorial skills with experience in communications and/or journalism, including journalistic research, interviewing, writing, editing, proofreading and speechwriting.
- Demonstrated high level of organisational skills, including the ability to work on several projects with tight deadlines and to work under pressure.
