About the role
As a senior policy officer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for managing development and coordination of mining and petroleum policy initiatives across the Department. You will undertake coordination of teams involved in the development and formulation of inter-jurisdictional and commonwealth policy initiatives in mining and petroleum and liaise with senior government officers and agencies on matters of mineral and petroleum policy development.
Drawing on your extensive experience in research and analysis of policy issues and coordination of policy initiatives within and across government agencies, you will play a vital role in developing and coordinating policy initiatives across the Department of Mines and Petroleum and carrying out economic research and analysis of the mineral and petroleum industry. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing reports and publications on financial and economic aspect of the industry and prepare ministerial correspondence. Your knowledge of state government roles in resource policy formulation would be advantageous to your success in this role.
