The role
This position is responsible for delivering specialist analysis and financial management advice to business areas. The role partners with designated business areas to inform sound financial decision-making and proactive financial solutions and support services as well as contributing to the department's budget strategy and estimates cycle and the development of the Department's internal and external budget process.
Your demonstrated experience in the development of internal and external budgets for a complex organisation and knowledge of public sector financial management frameworks including the budget process, Financial Management Act, Treasurer's Instructions and other relevant legislation and policies will play a key part to your success in the role.
You will bring to the role financial management and problem-solving skills including the development and implementation of financial management strategies, analysis and reporting as well as communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

- Demonstrated financial management and problem-solving skills including the development and implementation of financial management strategies, analysis and reporting.

- Demonstrated experience in the development of internal and external budgets for a complex organisation.
