The role
As Manager Dangerous Goods, you will drive safety compliance, regulatory engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing high-performing teams. You will play a key role in shaping policy, leading audits and inspections, managing compliance projects, and fostering industry collaboration to enhance public and environmental safety.
You will bring to the role your leadership and management experience in safety compliance, risk management, or regulatory enforcement.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience in policy development, operational planning and project management will be the key to your success.

While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 or 24 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalised.
To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments) at the time of application.

We ask for you to provide: A detailed resume outlining your key achievements, work history, education and professional development and covering letter of no more than two (2) pages, addressing the following role specific requirements and/or leadership behaviours:
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in managing inspectorate operations at a senior level, with proven ability to take responsibility, promote accountability and motivate others to achieve agreed performance outcomes and cultural change.
- Proven leadership and management skills, particularly in relation to building and optimising peoples' capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in relation to safety management with demonstrated experience in the application of work health and safety laws and/or dangerous goods laws.
