The Opportunity
Downer Energy & Utilities is offering an exciting Sheet Metal Apprenticeship based in Gladstone, QLD, providing exposure across all facets of the region’s heavy industry footprint. This is a unique opportunity to kick-start your 2026 career with hands-on, real-time learning across maintenance and shutdown environments. You’ll work alongside experienced tradespeople, gaining practical skills while developing a strong foundation in safety, quality, and operational efficiency. From day one, you’ll be immersed in real projects, learning what it takes to support critical infrastructure across one of Australia’s key industrial hubs.
About You
- Drivers Licence
- Completed Year 10 or higher (Year 12 preferred) with Pass marks in Maths & English
- Willingness to travel to different projects / sites as part of the apprenticeship programme
- Keen to learn and work in a hands-on environment
- Committed to safety, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship
