Full-Time Career Opportunity | Day & Night Shift Flexibility

Looking for a hands-on career with great earning potential, ongoing training, and opportunities to grow?

We are seeking motivated and reliable Plant Technicians to join our Rosehill Asphalt Production Team. Whether you're a recent school leaver, have a trade background, or are simply looking for a long-term career in a fast-paced industrial environment, we want to hear from you.

No asphalt industry experience? No problem. We're looking for people with the right attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

About Us

At Downer, we plan, create and sustain. As one of Australia's leading infrastructure service providers, we work with our customers to deliver and maintain the roads, transport and infrastructure that keep communities moving.

We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive workplace where our people can build successful careers.

About the Role

As a Plant Technician, you'll play an important role in the safe and efficient production of asphalt at our Rosehill facility.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you'll receive training and support while developing valuable skills in plant operations and manufacturing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the safe production and manufacture of asphalt

  • Operating mobile plant and equipment

  • Conducting basic maintenance and housekeeping activities

  • Monitoring production processes and maintaining quality standards

  • Working safely and following operational procedures at all times

  • Supporting plant operations across day and night shifts

  • Contributing to a positive, team-focused culture

What We're Looking For

We're more interested in your attitude and potential than extensive industry experience.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn

  • Strong reliability and commitment to attendance

  • A valid driver's licence and reliable transport

  • Flexibility to work day and night shifts as required

  • A mechanical aptitude or interest in hands-on work

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Basic technology skills and confidence learning new systems

  • A strong commitment to safety

Highly Regarded

  • Trade background or trade-related experience

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Front End Loader, Skid Steer, Forklift or other mobile plant experience

  • White Card

Recent Year 12 school leavers, trade assistants, labourers and candidates seeking a long-term career pathway are strongly encouraged to apply.

What's In It For You?

  • Competitive pay rate

  • Penalty rates and shift allowances

  • Regular overtime opportunities available

  • Full training provided – no asphalt experience required

  • Career development and ongoing upskilling opportunities

  • Annual pay increases in line with the EBA

  • A stable, full-time position with a leading Australian infrastructure business

  • Access to employee benefits and lifestyle discounts

  • Recognition as a WORK180 Endorsed Employer for Women
