We currently have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, and enthusiastic customer and safety-focused Security Guard. Key responsibility is to ensure access to the Cardiff Rail maintenance area controlled and limited to authorized persons only. Conduct patrols of the facility to maintain the integrity of fence lines/buildings.

This is a Full-time permanent opportunity with rotating rosters over 6 weeks periods so you can plan life ahead. Weekdays are 8-hour shifts and weekends are 12-hour shifts with potential overtime.

The Security Officer responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders
  • Conduct regular mobile vehicle and foot patrols of the site and its assets
  • Perform unlock and lock up of access points within the site
  • Monitoring of alarms and CCTV systems
  • Incident response, resolution, and reporting
  • Management of contractors and visitors onsite
  • Issuing and management of keys and access cards

Skills and Experience

  • NSW Security Licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Certificate 2/3 in Security Operations
  • NSW Full Driver's Licence is a must
  • Must have CCTV and access control experience
  • Proven experience in Security gatehouse work (not essential) but preferred
  • Current knowledge of work health and safety and risk management practices
  • Knowledge of current industry standards and requirements
  • Highly developed customer service skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to understand, interpret and follow policies, procedures, and instructions
  • High level of computer skills (including all Microsoft products)
