BUMA Australia was established in 2021 to acquire the Open Cut Mining business of Downer. This acquisition included the transition of all people, mining services contracts, assets, systems and intellectual property from a business which has successfully provided mining and civil services in diverse locations and across many commodities for over 75 years. Currently BUMA Australia successfully manages operations across four sites and we have plans to continue to expand and grow.

Currently we have the available position of HV Electrician Apprentice at Blackwater Mine. This role offers the opportunity to gain a national recognised qualification as a HV Electrician.
The four-year apprenticeship programme is designed to provide comprehensive practical and theoretical training that enables the development of skills to assist in maintaining and enhancing the availability and integrity of heavy mobile equipment and control systems. High priority will also be given to developing safety awareness and safe working practices.

If you have a positive attitude, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enjoy hands-on learning and are passionate about making a long-term career within the role, we encourage you to apply. You must be available to undertake a numeric, literacy, abstract and mechanical reasoning aptitude test and attend a pre-employment medical which includes Drug and Alcohol screening.
To meet the desired skills and experience to be considered, you will ideally obtain the following requirements:
- Completion of Secondary Schooling to a Year 12 level
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Technical aptitude
- A commitment to safety and teamwork
- Current Unrestricted non-probationary Full Manual Driver’s licence
- A relevant pre-apprenticeship or industry work experience is preferred but not essential
