ABOUT THE ROLE
The Utilities division of Downer is a leading delivery partner to owners of gas, electricity, water, wastewater and telecommunications. Downer connects people and communities through the operation and maintenance of power, water and gas networks; construction of transmission and distribution networks, renewable power generation, wastewater and water projects in order to connect homes and businesses.
Downer is seeking Lineworkers for New Connections to join our team in Lilydale or Thomastown , which is the service provider to the central region network that delivers electricity to over 300,000 customers across the region.
ABOUT YOU
- Completed a Certificate III in Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) Distribution.
- Hold a current valid driver’s licence and a heavy truck license.
- Detailed knowledge of high and low voltage reticulation system and access permit procedures.
- Carry out all types of metering and servicing work, i.e. new connections overhead and underground, single and three phase, truck appointments additions and alterations, meter and service abolishment’s.
- Assist in work planning and scheduling to ensure maximum efficiency and optimal customer service.
- Implement under the direction of the New Connections Manager, work practices to improve the performance of the team and implement a culture focused on improved performance in all facets of business operations.
