About the role
The Marketing & Communications Manager understands the Transport business unit clearly, customising the marketing and communication plan and initiatives to rollout effective and engaging messaging for both internal and external audiences.
The role works within the business unit to share messages from the Transport Senior Leadership and National Communications & Brand teams to assist with engagement initiatives, to share updates on delivery and highlight value delivered. The role will be responsible for developing and delivering marketing and communications that supports a customer-centric business and you will be focused on delivering the marketing outcomes for the Transport strategy.
You’ll also oversee our Transport Events, including our presence in the industry externally. This is an oversight role, working with our co-ordinators and events team to bring together the moving parts and people of event co-ordination into a clear and smooth process that delivers on the event outcomes.
This is a Full-Time, Permanent opportunity working across Monday-Friday and can be based from our Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Palmerston North, Wellington or Christchurch office with hybrid working arrangements available.
About you
Working with all areas of the Transport business, this is a highly connected role which requires strong people skills and an ability to influence others and deliver outputs where sometimes ambiguity may exist. We’re seeking someone with plenty of experience working in a communications role, exceptional organisation skills and a fresh, innovative approach and ability to grasp and bring concepts or technical material to life in simplified ways.
We’d also value:
- Relevant tertiary qualification essential – e.g. Marketing, Communications, Commerce, or Information Systems
- The ability to deliver in fast paced, multi-task environment, managing conflicting priorities
- Experience mentoring and developing others
- Exceptional interpersonal skills at all levels
- An understanding of change processes
- Some experience in organising and running events
Experience in using Human centred design, design thinking, or service design methodologies and experience using Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator) is desirable but not essential.
