With a large pipeline of forward work and a growing demand for our services, we now have a need for an Asphalt Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. An important member of the Paving team and working closely with the wider Asphalt team, this role plays a crucial role in the smooth delivery of our promised works. A busy role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring materials are accurate and for safety compliance. In regular communication with managers and other stakeholders, you’ll enjoy reporting and providing updates on past and future work.
The role will involve:
- Ensuring that Quality Plans and other relevant documentation meets the contract specification requirements – providing information to manage quality issues on site.
- Completing quality assurance and control documentation
- Managing weather related conditions such as road temperature, humidity and air temperature to assist with better management of site activities
- Calculating and controlling material quantities to ensure compliance with customer requirements
- Communicating results of findings and highlight quality/compliance issues with Foreperson/Supervisors as they arise
- Supporting, implementing and adhering to H&S policies and procedures.
- Administration support where required
About you
You’ll have a good understanding of asphalting processes and materials and will be up to date with best practice techniques. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll enjoy following jobs from start to finish. A people person, you’ll be strong at building relationships with key stakeholders including subcontractors and the public.
To be best suited to this role you’ll:
- Have demonstrated interest/experience in maintaining accurate records and data management
- Be able to conduct basic risk analysis applicable to construction operations
- Be a ‘team player’ with excellent communication skills
- Have a good understanding of mathematics as applicable to operations of construction
- Be a forward thinker who can enable growth in the Division’s business, particularly improving efficiency of operations
- Experience and/or knowledge of the road sealing process
- Have a high level of computer literacy
