Meandu Mine
BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation’s Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station. We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine. Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant. The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations. Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.
We are currently seeking an Operator/Maintainer for the Coal Handling Prep Plant (CHPP) to join the team at our Meandu Mine site located 25 kilometres south-east of Kingaroy. This is a full-time permanent role and a residential position; therefore, no camp or accommodation is provided.
The role:
Reporting to the CHPP Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation & maintenance of the fixed plant asset. This will be complemented by your ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team, by utilising resources to optimise equipment availability along with a commitment to maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping and compliance as part of your everyday tasks. Key requirements include:
- Experience in CHPP Operations and/or Maintenance roles
- Trade Certificate
- Team player
- Current STD11 would be advantageous
- Conduct coal stockpile dozer operations
- High risk EWP, Forklift, Front End Loader, Excavator and Bobcat would be highly regarded
- Current Drivers Licence
- Current confined space & working at heights
