About the Role:

We have a new opportunity for a Business Partner, Legislative Compliance to join our growing HSET corporate team in South Bank. You will be responsible for:

  • Improving and developing our Integrated Management System Documents from a legislative and health and safety perspective to assist our mining projects
  • Training, advising and supporting the BUMA project personnel in using the BUMA HSET systems
  • Overall management of key HSE systems – IMS, PMS, Lucidity, INX, Power BI and Energy databases including content, access, configuration, upgrading and archiving
  • Assessing the risks associated with a broad range of mining/mechanical hazards and drafting risk assessments that underpin our documentation

This role will have accountability for the following key elements of the system:

  • BUMA Health and Safety Management Systems, Intranet Share point, Internet pages and performance dashboards (currently Power BI)
  • Incident and hazard database (currently INX)
  • Critical Risk Database (currently Lucidity)
  • Energy Usage consumption database
  • Australian Standards
  • IMS, PMP, content, and structure
  • Environment Policies, compliance and reporting
  • Health Policies, compliance and reporting
  • Crisis management System preparedness
  • Zero harm Notifications Library to ensure effective communication of:
    • Preliminary Investigations advice
    • Alerts
    • Lessons learnt
    • Incident investigations
  • Monitoring and updating the compliance database
  • Direct supervision of the Health and Safety Systems Clerk to assist you and the team in the fulfilment of your roles

This accountability involves making the systems compliant with legislation and standards, and readily usable and available to system users. It will also involve development and continuous improvement of the system and ensuring that it is being effectively implemented. You will be responsible for administering access, configuration, upgrading and archiving of the systems and working with IT on any issues or upgrades. You will also ensure key stakeholders are kept informed and be responsible for documenting processes in our Integrated Management System.

You will be required to prepare weekly and monthly system progress reports and support the Zero Harm Leadership team in implementing and sustaining Corporate HSET systems and standards:

  • Integrated Management System (IMS)
  • Project Management Plans (PMP)
  • LUCIDITY Software
  • INX Software
  • Risk Management
  • Incident Management
  • Change Management
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Audit and Inspections
  • Management review
  • Preventative and Corrective actions

About You:

  • 7 + years mining industry experience and working knowledge of the QLD Coal Mining Act/Regulations, specifically in Safety Health Management Systems
  • Qualifications in Risk Management are desirable - RIIRIS601 (G3) and RIIWHS601 (G7), as is experience in a range of systems
  • Ability to work with remote teams and varied stakeholders
  • Database and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to deliver accurate and timely outcomes and demonstrate skills in time management, organisation and teamwork
  • Computer literacy and exposure to the Microsoft range of packages
  • Experience supervising others is desirable
