Downer has been selected to take part in a national programme delivering design and construction of Node to Premises (N2P) technology for our client, the National Broadband Network. Increasing the footprint of the fibre network will allow more Australians to realise the benefits of reliable, high speed internet connections. Design and Construction activities have commenced in WA & NSW.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Project Support Manager to join our project team, based out of our Hexham, NSW office. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplined team to provide operational support to the project team and lead the program and construction methodology for the region. Successful delivery will be contingent upon your collaborative relationship style, active leadership and participation in the key areas of Operational Support, Project Performance and Innovation and Zero Harm combined with upholding the Downer Pillars.
ABOUT YOU
- Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Project Management or post graduate qualifications preferred.
- Demonstrable and successful project/operations management experience in a similar environment
- Established project management experience and project discipline to deliver project outcomes reliably.
- Working knowledge of the Communications market and other sectors that Downer operates in
- Familiarity with project schedules and experience with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar preferred
- Experience in project start-up and functional cross skilled team leadership.
- Proven ability to proactively build relationships and communicate with a wide variety of people including key stakeholders, clients, peers, colleagues, suppliers and sub contractors.
- Experience in process development and organisational re-engineering.
- Skilled in contributing to IT systems development.
- Sound working knowledge of risk management principles and application of process.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills coupled with influencing and solid decision making skills based on facts and analysis.
