We currently have an exciting full-time opportunity for a Fleet Engineering and Maintenance Manager to join our Rail and Transit Systems team in Pakenham- VIC .
Your role as the Fleet Engineering and Maintenance Manager, will be responsible for:
- Managing and leading a cross-functional engineering team to maintain safe, compliant and reliable passenger fleets (High-Capacity Metro Trains), while maximising performance and profitability
- Developing industry leading maintenance and overhaul processes, providing expert technical support and advice to internal and external stakeholders, and effective engineering solutions to emerging fleet issues
- Making critical and timely decisions in difficult or ambiguous situations
- Ensuring team’s capabilities are appropriate to achieve business goals, identify resource and skill gaps and develop strategies to bridge gaps
Ideally, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline preferred; Engineering Qualifications coupled with proven experience acceptable
- Experience in Rollingstock Design/Build, Test and Commissioning and/ or Maintenance
- Experience in Infrastructure and/or Manufacturing
- Expert knowledge and understanding of rolling stock electrical and mechanical systems
- Knowledge and understanding of maintenance optimisation and Reliability Centred Maintenance
- Conduct regular reviews against plan and budget, taking action required to ensure financial objectives achieved
- Monitors safety performance and strives for continued improvement in safety outcomes
- Extensive knowledge of materials management as well as manufacturing processes and tools
- IT-Systems, relevant KPIs, legislation, comprehension of project management and finance
- A high performer with a broad range of experience and respect from peers. Has the ability to influence, motivate and contribute to continuous improvement.
