Downer holds a long-term Asset and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. Our Team Leaders are key to the successful delivery of maintenance services to the Prison sites that we manage. We are currently seeking a Team Leader to join our great onsite team based at Otago Corrections Facility.

Reporting to the Site Manager, this is a role that requires a hands-on practical approach and provides an opportunity for an ambitious and resilient individual to lead a team to deliver services within KPI and to provide quality, value for money work. You will also see yourself:

  • Scheduling and planning the activities of the internal self delivery team and subcontractors to ensure safe, timely and cost effective completion
  • Developing strong collaborative customer relationships and ensure customer interactions are positive and constructive
  • Supporting the Site with solid technical solutions, guiding team members and providing steady and consistent leadership

This is an opportunity for you to take charge of your career and produce positive results by making informed decisions and using your experience and resource management skills.

Prisons are sometimes challenging work environments, so you must be confident and able to conduct yourself professionally at all times. You will also understand the 24/7 nature of a prison site and be prepared to sometimes manage jobs and situations after hours.
