Downer is a leading provider of end-to-end Technology & Communications service solutions. Our wireless line of business offers capability across Project Management, RAN design, SAED, construction and integration services for our customers across both Carrier and Critical Communications networks.
Due to increasing volumes in our National wireless telecommunications programs Downer has an opportunity for a Deployment Project Engineer to join our team in North Ryde NSW (other locations will be considered for the right candidate).
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will primarily be accountable for end-to-end co-ordination and management of construction and integration activities across both fixed wireless and 5G site construction projects. You will ensure designs are constructible, develop build plans, order materials, engage field resources, raise relevant permits, manage site level budgets and manage site build activities. Post construction co-ordination and management of hand over packs.
- Manage the end-to-end build process inclusive of build plans, cost, contractor engagement, materials, permits, hand over packs.
- Understand the processes relating to site design and site acquisition and relevance of Safety in Design. Participate in constructability reviews during SAED phase.
- Review For Construction drawings and produce scope of work document and BoMs to issue to Construction Partners for quotation. Review of returned quotations.
- Work closely with the Field teams to co-ordinate start dates, site inductions, inspections, material delivery and resolve site design and construction issues.
- Ensure that project activities are completed “Right First Time” and where required drive continuous improvement.
- Identify defects and co-ordinate rectification prior to hand over pack submission.
- Promote safe working practices and a culture of safe behaviours and attitudes.
ABOUT YOU
- Several years experience working as a Deployment Engineer / Project Engineer on large scale wireless telecommunications construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience with design, construction and integration of Australian Telecommunications Carriers networks, specifically nbn and Telstra.
- Knowledge of 4G and 5G equipment: BTS, RRUs, antenna and feeder systems. Experience with Ericsson equipment mandatory.
- Proven Subcontractor Management experience.
- Ability to manage delivery of concurrent sites.
- Well-developed organisational skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Collaborative communication style with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
