Downer is a leading provider of end-to-end Technology & Communications service solutions. Our wireless line of business offers capability across Project Management, RAN design, SAED, construction and integration services for our customers across both Carrier and Critical Communications networks.

Due to increasing volumes in our National Fixed Wireless program, Downer has an opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team in North Ryde NSW (Melbourne or Brisbane locations will be considered for the right candidate).

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting into the Senior Project Manager, you’ll be responsible to deliver a diverse range of activities across the life cycle of our NBN Fixed Wireless project from design, through to deployment and project completion ensuring the project activities are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality levels.

• Deliver activities on time, to scope and budget that satisfies the Clients requirements across all phases of the project
• Actively solve problems and implement corrective action relating to the ongoing management of the project
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules and budgets, track progress against those plans throughout the project lifecycle
• Monitor project performance against milestones and KPIs, adjusting plans and resources as necessary to ensure successful delivery
• Review and analyse design artefacts and For Construction drawings to identify dependencies and/or impediments to execution of activities
• Update project financial summaries ensuring accuracy of forecast and actual revenue/cost
• Follow commercial and risk processes to minimise impact to the project.

ABOUT YOU

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Project Management preferred
• Project Management Certification is desirable
• Demonstrable and successful project/operations management experience and capability in a telecommunications construction environment
• Proven project management experience and project discipline to deliver project outcomes
• Demonstrated understanding of full life cycle of telecommunications projects -design, SAED and construction
• Able to review and understand designs and technical documentation
• Experience in preparation of contract financial summaries and commercial analysis
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external clients & stakeholders, peers and colleagues
• Customer oriented focus with drive to achieve service-based outcomes.
