Overview / Responsibilities
Mineral Technologies is currently seeking a Structural Design Engineer on a full time basis. This role will report to the Regional Lead Structural Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis using hand analysis, or using Spacegass or Strand7 FEA software
- Prepare and review project documents
- Prepare Engineering sketches, liaise with and direct drafters
- Review drafting models and drawings, certification
- Reviews and check work undertaken by other Structural Engineers
- Work on projects in a multi-discipline engineering team
- Embrace Company ‘ZERO HARM’ safety standards
- Site visits
Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering
- experience in structural design
- CPEng and RPEQ
- Sound experience in Spacegass engineering software
- Demonstrated experience in design of industrial structures
- Sound application of design standards AS1170, AS4100, AS3600
- Excellent skills in use of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Good communication skills
Desirable skills:
- Experience in Strand7 FEA engineering software
- Basic experience in AutoCAD
- Experience in design of structures for mineral processing and mining plants
- Experience in working through all stages of the EPC project: study, detailed design, workshop and construction support
- Experience in both green and brown field projects
- Site experience
