Due to an internal promotion, we are now looking for a high performance Contract Manager to join our busy Paving team, where you’ll be a key member. You’ll be predominantly based in our Penrose depot.

You’ll be driven and operationally minded with the ability to engage staff, develop and maintain strong client relationships, and able to help drive the business unit in the right direction.

This is a diverse and challenging role that includes both office and site-based activities. The Contract Manager's purpose is to provide management of specific operations, delivering on contract requirements, optimising resource use and achieving target results.

The Opportunity | Te Kōwhiringa

This role will see you focused on:

• Contract management, administration, and programming
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
• Mentoring and providing coaching to your direct reports (Contract Engineers and Supervisors)
• Planning and tendering of project work
• Safety, quality and environmental risk management
• Management of contractual issues and project documentation
• Establishing control framework and monitor process including project budgets, and resource management

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Matua

As an experienced operational leader you’ll bring with you:

• The ability to drive operational site work ensuring quality outputs and deliverables
• Ideally a background and project management or engineering experience in sealing operations
• Proven experience at delivering results in a commercially competitive environment where a focus on service and operational excellence is paramount
• Proven experience of HSE/QA in a commercial environment
• Experience in relating to operational staff at all levels of an organisation
• Salary from $120k to $160k depending on experience

You’ll ideally couple this with a relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor or Diploma).
