About Your Role:
The Payroll Project Officer is responsible for investigating and resolving payroll case issues. This role focuses on working with Downer business unit and subject matter experts to resolve complex cases; it is not a payroll processing role. It also contributes to enhancing people, process and technology solutions for continuous improvement.
This role is a Fixed Term contract position to 30/06/2024 ; after this time, we would endeavour to keep you within the business in another role depending on team and business requirements (*secondment options can be discussed).
Responsibilities for the Role include:
- Providing a customer case management service; plan, communicate, prepare and manipulate complex payroll data, resolve difficult enquiries, check calculations and administer remediation as required
- Integrating data across sources and preparing customised reports to enable payroll reconciliation and calculation of shortfall of entitlements
- Resolving cases consistent with payroll remediation procedure requirements
- Recommending improvements and streamlining processes to avoid errors.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Strong payroll experience in an autonomous role with a high volume of transactions
- Experience using SAP and Oracle HCMS (Express HR) payroll software and reporting including Spinifex
- Significant experience interpreting modern awards & enterprise agreements
- Problem solving skills
- Strong Excel experience (Pivot tables and V-Lookup) & Power BI advantageous
- Ideally, experience in payroll systems such as Attache, PayGlobal, Meridien, Quintiq, RS6000, JDE
- Strong relationship skills with various stakeholders, including business customers, HR, IR and Payroll teams
- Previous experience working in a Shared Services environment will be highly regarded
