ABOUT THE ROLE

Downer Mineral Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our business in a Business Development Support role. As the Senior Process Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and expanding our expertise in the industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Process Engineer to combine their technical expertise with business acumen.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• This role will be responsible for providing technical support, conducting research and analysis, and contributing to the development of new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients globally, serving as a technical advisor and addressing their metallurgical concerns or requirements.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and potential business opportunities within the global metallurgical industry.
• Collaborate with the business development team to develop strategies for expanding our metallurgical capabilities and driving growth in international markets and Contribute to the preparation of technical proposals, including metallurgical specifications, cost estimations, and project timelines, in collaboration with the sales and marketing teams.
• Attend international conferences, seminars, and industry events to stay updated on the latest advancements in global metallurgy and establish connections with key industry professionals worldwide and Work closely with cross-functional teams across different regions, including research and development, engineering, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless project execution and effective communication of metallurgical requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement within MT’s metallurgical team, contributing to the overall growth and competitiveness of the global business.

ABOUT YOU

• Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
• 5-7yrs experience working as a Process Engineer in Mineral Sands / Iron Ore with technical knowledge of spirals used in mineral separation.
• Enjoy working independently as well as in a team environment to achieve set goals.
• Ability to develop meaningful professional relationships and to interact at all levels in the organisation.
• Be a results driven self-starter with high energy levels and have well developed communication and interpersonal skills. Be adaptable to change.
