The Downer Group Property team are responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Downer property portfolio in support of corporate business needs and initiatives. The property portfolio includes commercial and industrial sites dispersed geographically across Australia, held under a range of tenures.
We are searching for a Group Property Manager to join Downer on a full time permanent basis, based in our Sydney, Brisbane or Auckland offices.
About the role
The purpose of the Group Property Manager role is to set the strategic direction and manage the effective delivery of the group’s property functions including portfolio management, leasing, capital transactions, project management and facilities management.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic portfolio management and lease management to optimise the group’s leasehold and freehold property portfolio across Australia and New Zealand to unlock value
- Engage with executives at the COO level to support their business strategies with property solutions
- Management of the property team to deliver property projects to agreed time, cost and quality parameters
- Manage and optimize property rental and outgoings expenses across Australia and New Zealand
- Commercial leasing strategy, advisory and execution
- Capital transactions including freehold and leasehold acquisitions and divestments
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualification in Property Management, Property Economics, Property Development / Planning and/or Project Management
- At minimum of 10 years’ experience in Property Management and/or Project Management
- Demonstrated experience developing and leading high performing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver property outcomes
- A proven track record of successfully managing teams and influencing individuals / teams to drive business improvement
- A strong level of stakeholder engagement and business collaboration including demonstrated experience in designing stakeholder management strategies and dealing with key stakeholders including outsourced providers
- Demonstrated commercial acumen
- Demonstrated experience with the identification, development, implementation and continued review of policies, procedures and strategic business models
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Strong written, verbal, communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability in delivering projects on time and in line with critical success factors, prioritising conflicting tasks
- Intellectual capability to quickly understand and apply new concepts
- Well versed in developing and interpreting analytical reports used to measure change
