About the role
As the Business Development Manager, you will be in our Perth office reporting directly to the General Manager of Strategy & Growth. This position is responsible for the growth of our Industrial & Energy business with a specific focus in maintenance and major projects across the Power Generation, Integrated Gas & Heavy Industrials sectors.
- Manage the west coast client base and pipeline
- Strategic manage relationships with key clients
- Utilise Miller Heiman techniques to manage large account opportunities
- Work with customers for early engagement, and to identify opportunities for the business.
- Manage the CRM and opportunity pipeline in line with Downer standards
- Engage customers at time of identification, to drive early engagement to influence outcomes
- Develop Customer engagement strategies to position Downer for successful award
- Work with bid and tender managers to ensure proposals are complete in all required detail
- Assist in contract negotiations and support Managers at post-tender interviews, as required
- Maintain knowledge of our industry sectors, and Downers’ market position
- Engage with Industry to ensure brand and reputation of Downer is well represented
- Engage with Industry organisations to represent Downer’s brand in the market
- Develop and present client presentations as required
- Local and interstate travel required
ABOUT YOU
- High level of communication and relationship management skills
- Well-developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the business
- Well-developed conceptual, analytical, planning and problem solving skills
- Needs to be visionary, to assist Downer and our clients in managing the ‘net zero’ transition
- Organising and planning skills
- Ability to use initiative and prioritise workload, for effective time management
- Due to the detailed nature of the work requirements, attention to detail is mandatory
- Ability to identify and manage client relationship with strong customer service orientation
