About the Role

As a Service Technician, you will undertake a range of activities on site at Mayne or provide support in regional QLD. This includes scheduled wagon maintenance inspections and repairs, component overhaul and testing, and work on Queensland Rail passenger rollingstock.

Your role will involve both workshop and outdoor environments, requiring physical fitness to handle equipment and terrain. Travel to regional QLD will be necessary, including tasks such as planned maintenance, fault finding, and welding to AS1554 standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical work on Railway Rollingstock, sub-assemblies, and manufactured parts.
• Utilise processes, tools, and recording systems such as R/Drive.
• Travel to remote locations for maintenance with fellow team members.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, leveraging technical drawings and engineering best practices.
• Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and contractors.

Qualifications and Licenses Required

• Trade-qualified mechanical fitter.
• Welding certificate to AS1554 or EN15085.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Forklift license (preferred)
