The opportunity

Gold Coast Infrastructure Solutions (GCIS) is a Joint Venture between Downer and Ventia that is performing works to deliver water and wastewater repairs and maintenances services, and renewals program works for the City of Gold Coast (CoGC).

Due to expansion of works, we are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time permanent opportunity based currently at Arundel with regular travel to other sites where required, and during project implementation project-based site offices across the CoGC Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs).

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Project Manager STPs, you will play a vital role in providing overall co-ordination and leadership of site activities for varying and complex M&E renewals works across the CoGC’s STPs. As part of the role you will focus on ongoing Subcontractor management, improvement of work processes and service delivery improvement.

  • Manage day to day activities of work crews and Subcontractors, including planning and coordinating site activities, scheduling, organisation and ongoing cost tracking of plant and equipment, reporting, and administration.
  • Monitor and ensure site activities comply with statutory requirements, Zero Harm, and organisational policies, procedures and standards.
  • Onboarding and management of Subcontractors ensuring alignment to The Downer Standard and GCIS processes.

What we’re looking for

You will cultivate outstanding leadership skills, foster collaboration, and uphold a positive mindset, enabling you to efficiently oversee and enhance daily M&E site operations.

  • Electrical or Mechanical trade qualifications required.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory position, preferably within the water or utilities industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, set-up, and execution of works.
  • Experience with site-based subcontractor management.
  • Strong time management, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
