The Opportunity

We are actively seeking a new Senior Project Accountant to join our growing Industrial and Power Generation business. This role will be based in our Milton office and will directly report to our Finance Business Partner.

As Senior Project Accountant you will be the key contact to stakeholders providing critical information on Project/Operations performance and financial results of the Projects. You will support operations and project performance management and maximise project returns as well as, managing expectations of internal stakeholders and ensuring Project Managers remain “on track” to deliver on promises.

What we are looking for

• Tertiary level qualification in Finance, Accounting or Commerce preferred
• CA or CPA qualified
• Demonstrable 5+ years of financial / project accounting experience / capability in a large complex corporate.
• Strong understanding of and accounting for cost plus and schedule of rates contracts
• Commercially astute, understanding of contracting environments and associated commercial complexities
• Strong inter-personal and verbal communication skills. Including writing skills for accounting papers and business commentary
• Effective time management
• Well-developed conceptual, analytical, problem solving and planning skills
• Significant exposure to ERP systems (JDE preferable)
• Exposure to data analytics/reporting tools (Power Bi preferable)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
