Head of Commercial - Base and Estate Management
We currently have an opportunity for a Head of Commercial – Base & Estate Management. Join our Base and Estate Management team and play a key role in driving the performance of the business in all aspects including safety, people, commercial returns, growth, customer and community outcomes. Reporting to the General Manager – Commercial & Risk and supporting the Executive General Manager – Base & Estate Management, you'll help deliver high-quality commercial outcomes that support our essential services within the Defence sector across Australia and New Zealand.
What You’ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
- Proactive management of contractual relationships to avoid disputes arising or reach resolution in a timely and forward-thinking manner.
- Implement and champion the use of standardised commercial and risk processes and practices.
- Working with other Functions and Contract Mangers to establish clarity and visibility of Contract performance.
- Identification and analysis of issues, risks, or opportunities and communication of associated recommendations.
- Critical evaluation of project performance leading to development and execution of commercial strategies to achieve profit improvements and improve operational EBIT.
What You’ll Bring
- Ability to obtain a defence security clearance (Australian citizenship is required)
- A tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Finance, Commerce, Business Management, Engineering, Construction, Building or Project Management or related field.
- Extensive experience in Finance/Commercial Management, Project Management/ Operations Management or equivalent.
- Proven track record in driving business process improvements and streamlining processes to enhance performance.
- Understanding of complex services and asset management contractor environment (projects, maintenance services and PPPs)
- Strong financial and commercial acumen coupled with a management qualification and/or demonstrated skills or experience.
