The SAP HR Payroll Systems Test Analyst plays a key role in ensuring payroll systems are accurate, compliant, and reliable across Australia and New Zealand. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality testing outcomes for Industrial Instrument Agreement (IIA) builds, Enterprise Agreement changes, and payroll system support activities.
Working within the People Services team in the Business Services Centre, this position develops, executes, and maintains test cases across multiple HR and payroll platforms. The role partners closely with HR, IR, IT, and business stakeholders to support accurate payroll outcomes and effective system change delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute high-quality test cases within qTest Case Management to support payroll system changes and configurations.
- Deliver testing for IIA and Enterprise Agreement builds, system enhancements, and support fixes.
- Ensure IR and business requirements are clearly understood and reflected in test coverage.
- Execute test scripts, record and categorise defects, and manage issues through to resolution.
- Provide test results, completion reports, and supporting evidence for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sign-off.
- Produce regular test progress and status reports for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with HR, IR, IT, and vendor teams across onshore and offshore delivery models.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance testing practices, quality outcomes, and service delivery.
- Operate in line with organisational safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
What You Will Bring
- Demonstrated experience in HR or payroll systems testing within a large, complex environment.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, Industrial Instruments, award interpretation, and related system configurations.
- Experience developing and executing test cases in HR and payroll platforms. SAP Payroll experience is a requirement for this role, (experience with Quintiq advantageous).
- Solid knowledge of testing lifecycles, defect management, and quality assurance principles.
- Advanced MS Excel capability, with confidence analysing and validating data.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A hands-on, pragmatic approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Relevant qualifications in IT or equivalent practical experience in payroll systems testing or configuration.
